the red stuff

Simple and creative ad with little copy because of such a powerful image, but personally at the end of the day i would not be having ketchup on my steak.

couple more i found...

Well well well what have we here?

A while ago i went to Bakewell with some friends and while they were eyeing up the tarts i came across this little jar...Spanks. It just mae me laugh. But i have been on there website, its nothing to write home about but quite nice, simple and minimalistic. Aesthetically the products are quite nice to look at, they do not bombard you with information or pretty patterns, it lets the goods speak for itself. They have a range of products but sadly nowhere does it say where the name originated from...the more i think about it the the more i have a justifiable idea...my guess is that someone has put there own spin on the word, so basically thanks you get spanks, a pretty old one to be fair. But a novel and memorable name for an everyday product.

Give a few Bob

I was in the que at WHSmith's buying my fathers day card and this little beauty stood out. So simple and witty even though the great comedian is not with us anymore. I just thought it was classic and simple and 'Give a few Bob' gets everything across in one simple funny line.

Sadly its quite poor quality as taken on my phone and not been able to find a better version yet. Below is the advert i found while looking for the other image, and again just simple one liners fitted in with the mix of the seriousness of the illness; it gets the message across that its a killer but it's not to heavy.

Absolut

This is one company thats design are permanently top notch! Absolut do what they have to make there point and stand high and proud above the rest because of it. I haven't been here but would like to just for the novelty factor, I think the shere presence of it would be a great one to experience. The bar is a constant -5 degrees and the ice is shipped over from sweden. You get given a thermal cape and have a 40 minute window to enjoy your surroundings. The best part about it is that every six monthes the bar has a completely new design, which is needed because with some the whole ice thing may wear off so there is something else to keep you interested.

Pie in the sky...

So who would have thought it, really a pie in the sky.

I seem to be coming a bit of a crane geek...but great ambient media. You get strapped in your seats and lifted up by a crane and your food is cooked and served up in front of you. A bizarre idea but could be a good setting for a business meeting (as long as clients are ok with heights) or celebration like new years with fireworks in the skyline, quite expensive though. Check out the video and website .

Coca Cola

Coke have quite a few memorable ads, particular favourites are the old 'Diet Coke Break' with the Etta James I Just Want To Make Love To You song playing, and the only thing that made that work was the hunky man and that song, the other being the christmas coke advert with the song 'Wonderful Dream (Holidays are Coming)' as soon as that advert came on it meant christmas was near. But this recent advert is great, trying to show you how the company sees themselve, what they feel they put into every bottle of coke, making each and everyone individual. Just a good advert and you get wrapped up in it, it feels like your slightly in Lord of the Rings at one point with the hills, but you get taken on this little journey and the thought thats gone into it, not only the journey but all the different places and the personality of all the chararcters too, a great piece of animation.

Twickenham

A great stadium from a fans point of view, architecturaly its pretty ugly from the outside, but on the inside its 80,000 fans and nothing to get in your way, no poles or anything disturbing your view. A must for sporting fans, and im sure its even better when your team is winning.

freestyling...rock the microphone

Nike is infamous for showing the skills of the players to show the brand off, you wear that brand you can play like that. There are two prticular clips, basketball and football. Its visually enticing to watch people use there skills and play with the equipment to provide entertainment, which always looks easy till you go out and try it yourself. The music is pretty much made up of the sounds made while performing the tricks and the music runs consistently through the two clips but just a harder sound on the basketball front, its also pretty catchy.

the dog snors...

-i snor (Danish) = to string. Funny how it can mean one thing in one language and something different in another.

Denmark, Copenhagen

The lampshade is made of negatives from films when they were developed before we went digital and just weaving them in and out makes an interesting focal point and could be a good piece to show a story or someones life.

LEGO

introducing a lego game to the playstation, using the two elements that tie the two to create a strong visual.

another clever piece by lego, ambient media using some of the best located cranes in santiago city and hang large fake lego blocks from the crane. By taking things one step further it has so much more power, as print this would be a funny visual but not as good as the real thing and the real thing will grab more attention than the print.

stealth mode

a great logo design for 'stealth' emphasising further the meaning visually as well as the idea that there products instill.

World Wide Fund for Nature

Some of WWF's recent campaigns.
With only using part of an image it leaves half of the visual open for interpretation, so what do you see? Panda or Alarm Clock...both?

the second ad is aimed at leopards and shows the rapid decline of the animal. Even though there is a drop in the number of animals they still manage with minimal use to show the larger picture of a leopard.

Proud to be hosting the Olympics with that logo?

pretty much says it all on the tin.

a world without advertising...

no if this did happen, im not sure where we would all go, but as yet were ok, except for Sao Paulo. They have had an advertising ban, its pretty interesting, looks bizarrely empty, but at the same time creates new art. Its like a new form of art, because depending when you view it it will change depending on time of day weather among other factors especially concerning the location below.
