iPad

Okay, so i know this is a bit behind the times, but I can now admit how totally amazing the iPad actually is no we have one in our household. It was technically a present to my parents from my brother however i am fully getting the use out of it. There are a few niggly bits like no usb port, but in the grand scheme of things its not a major issue because i still have my old timer Powerbook G4 going strong. Either an amazing piece of kit that i think will impress most, it even had my dad and step mum battling it out at Angry Birds.

Something fishy around here...

I think this is a great literal interpretation and i am surprised that no-one has thought of it sooner, a tad expensive around the £255 mark but what a great focal piece and it will make your goldfish from the fair look like a million pounds.

Kissmas

It is coming up to our favourite festive time of the year - forgetting the long list of presents you need to get ready for Santa... Paul Cocksedge has produced a new interactive light installation to be set in Covent Garden, London. This piece takes form of a christmas tree (naturally) whereby shoppers will be the key ingredient... Interested... Well passsers by will have the opportunity to kiss under a giant mistletoe which in turn makes the tree change from white leds to red ones... Pretty impressive. A must see this christmas, as well as a west end show and ice-skating at Somerset House. Check out Paul Cocksedges site for more pieces.

Whatever Next

While recently shopping at Fosse Park I stopped and admired Next's latest window display. A mixture of thoughts were running through my head, part of me loving the effort and the festiveness the other half of me jealous that this is someone's job. After i got over the later part I enjoyed the display, all the 3d snowflakes (so to speak) making a wonderful back drop to present some of this winters finest garments. I think Next generally go to great lengths to put on a good display of there products and when you look in there windows compared to neighboring shops it makes a difference. Lets see what the likes of Marks and Spencer and John Lewis have this season...

Yarn Storming

Confused, intrigued, want to be involved...well lets put it this way were not talking grannies and tea cosies, and that is part of the reasoning. It's to take this old image we link to knitting where it actually is becoming a popular past-time with some of the younger folk too. A friend of mine knitted a wooly hat for me which i adore, she made it and its a limited edition if you get my gist, and lets be honest you probably weren't a fan of your grannies creations because it sported something like a large reindeer head aka Bridget Jones. However these little beasts crop up all over London in guerilla style, i know if i found one in my city it would make my day. On top of that some of these little knitted creatures are cute as, i think they could definately make a little shop of one off's and limited editions, keep your eyes peeled when your in the big smoke...

Should of gone to Specsavers...

It is amazing how brands can instill there motto/strap-line in the public if they are exposed to it enough and how the line is used in everyday conversation, continually promoting the brand, even if it is subconscious. With regards to the advert need i say anymore... Simple and to the point, and let's be honest no-one would want there Audi to be damaged, and a Specsavers bill would be cheaper than Audi's too.

Have you had your Weetabix?

This advert is great, it grabs everyones attention, the giant furry animals appeal to the children while making the adults laugh in the process. It's a similar analogy to Popeye and his spinach, and it's funny because when I have played sport in the past and some one seems to be extra energetic or has strength I always joke about them having had there Weetabix for breakfast. I think this advert is great for their portfolio and goes back to the roots of what half of there advertising was originally focused on.
